Inspired by footage of life beneath Antarctica's massive iceland, Glacier sounds as immense, desolate and beautiful as an actual visit to these exotic corners of the world. The album progresses symmetrically, starting and ending with two shorter tracks while the core of the album is comprised of two much longer and monolithic numbers. Cosmic Shore is our approach towards the gigantic ice cliffs. The haunting guitar melody like the gentle rocking of the boat hitting the waves and the horizon slowly giving way to the sun lit white coast. On the two following tracks, we are submerged, miles deep under water. Slowly we hover under endless icy ceilings with the occasional life form crossing our beams of light. These songs might cause claustrophobic disturbances in some listeners. The closing Underwater Cathedral is our finding of an antarctic El Dorado as we swim between towering crystal beams and sparkling ice structures. Sweet! ~ myrecordcollection.org
